For about a month now, I have been working in Kampala, mentoring many designers and teams of various backgrounds. I cannot say, that the design field in Uganda differs dramatically from Europe, as one could have expected. So far, I can confidently underline the fact, that though the technical skills are quite strong, the main concern I see here, is the clear deliverance of a message – the lacking in communication.
Outbox is organising a Designers' Hangout scheduled for for Tuesday 25th November, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Outbox located on Soliz House Plot 23, Lumumba Avenue.

During the weekend of 24th to 26th October 2014, close to 70 innovators assembled in 10 teams comprising of developers, designers, marketers and entrepreneurs who worked tirelessly over the weekend to launch their products (prototypes) on Sunday evening.
In a record 48 hours; a flurry of code was typed away, ideas pivoted, bezier curves bent in Photoshop, contingency plans drawn, strategies made and equal amounts of networks built. In a simpler speak, a lot of colaboration and training was done and awesome products (prototypes) were born.
