Intel is giving an opportunity to developers to test their Apps on hundreds of devices in the cloud for free, with lots of prizes to give away.

Take up the Intel AppThwack challenge to debug your Intel Android application remotely and stand a chance to win awesome intel goodies.

This competition runs for one month from November 10th - December 10th, open for developers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria & South Africa.

The AppThwack challenge allow you test your apps on hundreds of real, physical devices in minutes and win prizes ranging from $5,000 in Marketing support for your App, Intel Powered, Samsung Galaxy Tab3, Asus FonePad, a complete Intel Test Suite for Tech Hubs & University Partners & so much more.

The AppThwack also allows you to get a comprehensive report of your app on each of the target devices selected. As a developer you get to know how your app runs on an actual device without necessarily having the physical device.

Procedure:

1. Link to www.appthwack.com after registration (under Outbox).
2. Upload app(s) to test, configure parameters & select Intel devices for free testing.
3. Share URL of Initial results back to www.intelappthwack.com
4. Revise & retest app(s) sharing back the test URL results until satisfactory app optimization is attained.
5. Share final URL results to www.intelappthwack.com

Outbox has received a number of goodies from Intel that you can win instantly including head phones, bags, T-Shirts, etc. To win these goodies, you should register (under Outbox) and also send the public link of your results to intel@outbox.co.ug after completing procedure 1 to 5 above.

The winning categories include:

1. Best Optimized App Overall - $5,000 marketing support for app.
2. Best Optimized App per Country - Intel Powered Samsung Galaxy Tab3
3. Highest no. of Optimized Apps by an Individual Developer - Asus FoneTab.
4. First 3 Tech Hubs/Partners to submit 50 apps in the challenge - Complete Intel Test Suite

Entries will be judged following based on the final submission or the latest report recorded as at 10th December 2014.

AppThwack shows you screenshots of how your activities looks like on real devices. This information can be used to adapt an app’s user interface to be compatible with the target devices. AppThwack tracks app performance over time and provides the developer with CPU, Memory, Threads and Frames draw time metrics.
