The 3rd Annual Communications Awards (ACIA) were launched this morning at the Kampala Sheraton hotel over breakfast. Various stakeholders in the ICT Sector were present to witness the launch.

The internet was built by and for boys. As a girl, one feels like lacking the vocabulary to access it. Building software services and applications is now cheaper, faster and easier than before yet women’s visions are underrepresented.

I'm glad to announce that once a week, starting this Friday, Elijah Kitaka will be available for office hours at Outbox Hub in Kampala, Uganda from 11:00hrs to 16:00hrs. Elijah will work with startup teams on a one-on-one basis to strengthen strategy and partner pipeline development, pitching, and customer acquisition. He will also be available for brainstorming sessions. Teams can book slots through the Outbox calendar.

It’s a popular game in Uganda; some people simply call it Cards while others call it by its real name, Matatu. The goal of the game is to play all your cards before your opponent. The player that’s first to place all their cards wins. Using the popular playing cards a group of friends can sit around playing Matatu for hours.
