Teheca wins Seedstars Kampala 2019

Besides standing a chance to win USD 500,000 at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland, Teheca will join the global Seedstars Family and get a free trip to the Seedstars Summit Africa 2019 at the end of the year.

Teheca wins Seedstars Kampala 2019

Teheca Limited, has won the Seedstars 2019 Kampala pitch competition. Besides standing a chance to win USD 500,000 at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland, Teheca will join the global Seedstars Family and get a free trip to the Seedstars Summit Africa 2019 at the end of the year.

The runners up were Yunga and Chap Chap in second and third place respectively. 

This year’s Seedstars Kampala pitch was held at the Kampala Innovation Week at Kololo Independence Ceremonial Grounds in partnership with the Doen Foundation, International Trade Centre (ITC), CBI, NSSF, Jumia and the African Development Bank Group; organised by Outbox Hub.

All the startups that participated in the 2019 pitch include:

Chap Chap Africa- a company that creates financial profiles for SMEs by digitizing their day to day business transactions.

Teheca Limited- Personalized and convenient access to post-birth health care services and support through connecting mothers to nurses for an in-home checkup

gnuGrid Africa- a startup monitoring and controlling solar systems through the cloud in real-time, enabled by AI-optimized hardware. Seamless and Intelligence performance.

Ugabus Ltd- Ugabus is a bus aggregator that avails bus users with web and mobile application to book any bus to travel anywhere within East Africa.

PAAT SOIL CLINIC- leveraging mobile technology to increase crop yields through efficient soil testing to enable smallholder farmers to make farming decisions

Yunga Technologies- a security device that allows homes to protect each other instead of security companies.

Too Good- an online platform that offers up to 85% off services from in and around town.

Ogaget Holding LTD- a multichannel marketplace designed to save lives by facilitating immediate access to nearest accredited available emergency ambulances, physicians and prehospital care. 

The Online Butchery- an online meat store that is dedicated to delivering a variety of fresh meat and meat products reliably.

The startups pitched before a jury consisting of John Ndabarasa, Startup Relations and Engagement Associate at International Trade Center; Mina Shahid, Co-Founder & Co-CEO at  Numida; Timothy Mugabe, Country Manager at Jumia Uganda, Nielsimms Sangho, Country Lead - FlutterWave; Otim Gerald, Founder and Lead, Ensibuuko and Maryam Mgonja, Regional Partnerships Manager, Africa at Seedstars.


Teheca Limited came to life in 2017 through Up Accelerate, a UNFPA Uganda social innovation program implemented in partnership with Outbox.
