As a communications and marketing lead, you are responsible for driving our content strategy for
our marketing campaigns and digital experiences. You will merge insights from learnings, with
effective storytelling and can bring these narratives to life across a variety of marketing platforms.
You know how to nurture online communities and measure results. You are expected to build
differentiated, engaging and user focused content that is designed to attract, engage and retain our
target audience, youth entrepreneurs. You have experience in developing, nurturing and engaging
online communities across a variety of social media platforms. You will handle content themes,
and narratives while supporting creative production to ensure the creation, delivery and
optimization of content.
Core Responsibilities
● Develop and own content strategy that drives key business objectives and engages our end
users, supports our brand and value proposition;
● Collaborate with internal teams, partners and agencies to build and deploy timely,
highly-credible content to drive brand affinity, engagement, conversion, thought leadership
and action;
● Conduct quantitative and qualitative user and market research; collect and analyze and
distill information and data from multiple channels into actionable insights to inform
overall content strategy that effectively engages our audience;
● Craft and manage editorial calendars, content inventory, metadata frameworks and content
plans relevant to Outbox's audience;
● Strategically manage and nurture social media and online communities
● Develop monthly reports on content and marketing campaigns across various initiatives in
the organisation;
● Work with other individuals within the organisation to understand their marketing and
communication leads thus leading to a comprehensive approach to communications
● Manage and oversee our digital marketing properties that include our social media
accounts, newsletters, blogs, and website;
● Maintain an active and up-to date contact database of our stakeholders that can support
our communications initiatives

Minimum qualifications:

● A Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related area of study;
● At-least 4 years work experience in content strategy, community/social media
management, brand management and digital marketing while nurturing online
● Experience with using modern digital tools for documentation and project
management, include G-suite, slack, JIRA, etc
● Experience with online marketing tools that include hubspot, buffer to mention but
a few;
● Proven track record of building and managing budgets and programs to support
efficient and sustainable growth

Preferred qualifications: 

● Ability to effectively communicate a brand or human impact story and how to
envision how content could be presented or distributed in formats other than text
based articles such as rich media, videos, infographics, webinars et
● Analytical abilities to collect key business and user insights and to apply strategic
planning skills to create a long-term vision for the content that's generated;
● Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams with strong
communication and organizational skills;
● Strong ability to communicate progress and learnings from projects to colleagues
● Strong listening, documentation and presentation skills
● Excellent project management skills, including handling multi-stakeholder projects
● A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
● You are flexible, adaptable and able to execute a range of job duties and changing
● Experience with enterprise development initiatives for micro, small and medium
● You pay attention to the various sensitivities of various cultures;
● Ability to travel at-least 70% of the time to various regions of the country;
