About the Event
Welcome to the event "Session 1: Linear regression: Finland-Uganda Data Science Meetup". We are looking forward to meeting you and to explore and use data to solve problems together.
Please Join us on 29th March 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Outbox Hub.
Background reading:
This is a beginner level session for data science, thus we have tailored it at that level. However, some knowledge of matrices and array data structures is beneficial. Some reading for the above in R , and Python.
Software requirements:
This is a hands on session. Thus if you want to follow along, which is recommended, then:
1. Bring your laptop and a charger
- we will be mainly using Caret and ggplot 2 libraries
- tutorial on installing R, R studio and packages
3. Install Anaconda (python 3.6) and Pycharm community edition (or any other python IDE will be ok)
- Installing Anaconda first - Install Pycharm
- we will be using pandas, sklearn, matplotlib, numpy libraries
If you have problems installing the above, please come early between 4pm-4:30pm and we will try to help you setup.
