About the Event

Outbox’s startup school seeks to provide hands-on practical education to founders and their teams.  The initiative is open to startups in Outbox’s programs, those of its partners and resident at our space. At these sessions, founders learn receive practical skills their startups need like UX design, business modeling, to mention but a few.

What to expect from this session
The business modeling startup school is hosted in partnership with Open Capital Advisors (OCA) on 30th July 2019, 8am to 1pm EAT. In this session, you will learn how to design and effectively manage your business model experiments. A few selected startups will also have the opportunity to receive one-to-one coaching on their business models over 40 minute engagements. Register here to attend by 25th July 2019

This session will help you:

  • Receive clarity on effective business model hypothesis design for effective customer discovery;

  • Develop effective key performance indicators for business model experiments;

  • Receive constructive feedback on your business model;

  • Stand an opportunity for consideration into OCA_Oxfam’s development assistance initiative where you can receive further expert support to plan and grow the business

Prerequisite

  • You should upload a simple pitch deck on your startup during registration, clearly highlighting your needs

Facilitators

Dhrooti Vyas
Dhrooti is a former SaaS tech startup founder and is currently completing her Masters in Business Administration with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Finance. She has extensive experience with business strategy, including customer discovery, product planning, key performance indicator tracking, financial modelling/ valuation, and fundraising. Dhrooti is eager to work with founders that have identified an exciting market opportunity and are disciplined in their approach. Having spent most of her life in the United States, Dhrooti is currently a Fellow at Open Capital Advisors, a management consulting and financial advisory firm helping African economies grow.

Patrick Kikomeko
Patrick Kikomeko is a business analyst with Open  Capital Advisors, a management consulting and financial advisory firm based in Nairobi supporting the growth of African economies. Patrick has a background in Electrical Engineering majoring in Power Systems where he gained experience working on renewable energy projects with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Uganda. He has trained at UMEME as a planning and performance Engineer where he contributed to the overall performance improvement of the UMEME network through projects that reduced energy loss. Patrick seeks to actively participate in the growth of the Ugandan economy by supporting technology innovation in the country.
