Join us in welcoming SafeBoda, an uber-like motorcycle service in Kampala, a resident startup at Outbox.

Motorcycle taxis (boda) rule the roads in Kampala! SafeBoda exists to offer a safe and secure boda experience.

"We believe that a market-based solution that incentivizes road safety can prevent injury and death and significantly reduce public health costs. We are a community of SafeBoda drivers and responsible passengers using a mobile application to find each other."

Safe Boda provides drivers with trainings, personalised reflector jackets, quality helmets, and help users find SafeBoda drivers using a mobile application available on Android and iOS. The mobile application conveniently locates the nearest SafeBoda drivers and the platform seeks to offer a unique customer and driver experience.

Alastair is also excited to be working at Outbox and hopes to utilise his experiences building operations and improving execution for number of organisations in East Africa over the past four years.

After gaining a Masters in Economics from Oxford University, he was an economic advisor to the Government of Rwanda for nearly three years. He also helped setup One Acre Fund, a leading agriculture social enterprise, in Ethiopia and was a consultant for Dalberg Global Development Advisors, a management consultancy focused on economic development, in San Francisco.
