This lecture introduces computer vision through an overview of the problems this field attempts to solve and of the kinds of methods it applies. It also describes where we stand today in computer vision: which technologies are mature and how to hack together a state-of-the-art method for these, which ones are becoming usable in non-critical scenarios and what is still completely unsolved.
